Our older indicator Model 3100 used some electronics made by Arlyn Scale that are no longer available since the late 1990’s. However, many of these are still in service decades later. This is the calibration sheet for the Mosdal Arlyn Model 3100 scale indicator.

Thelmer Mosdal built this shear. The blade halves were sharpened with a hand held right-angle grinder to within 0.017″ of each other. This shear has cut accurately and reliably for over 30 years. Thank you, Thelmer, for your excellent fabrication.

Mosdal Scale Systems recently added a high definition plasma cutter to the shop. This 1-3/8″ thick grade 50 steel plate was cut on the Koike-Aronson 60″ x 120″ cutting table with a Hypertherm HD3070 3-phase plasma torch.

Plasma cut 1.375 inch grade 50 steel.

This custom hand truck scale conceptual model is designed to lift and weigh feed tubs to determine feed rejection rates. The mechanism is low-tech. As the farm manager pushes the hand truck under the feed tub, it is elevated and the rejected feed is weighed. The scale can be configured to remove the weight of the tub and display on the weight of the contents.
